Ukraine 'tried to assassinate President Putin using drone loaded with explosives' (photos)
According to a report by German newspaper Bild, Ukrainian secret service agents allegedly launched a kamikaze drone packed with 17kg of C4 plastic explosives in an attempt to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to a newly built industrial estate near Moscow. The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, and the drone was aimed at the industrial site where Putin was scheduled to visit. While Russian authorities have not confirmed the assassination attempt, Bild's source, Yuriy Romanenko, claims that they are trying to keep it quiet. Romanenko, who claims to have close ties to Kyiv's intelligence services, said that Ukrainian secret service agents received information about Putin's visit to the industrial site. While experts say that a precision strike against Putin with a kamikaze drone is almost impossible, the fact that the drone reached the site where Putin planned to stay could have significant implications for the Kremlin's security.
