"Individual posing as army officer charged with human trafficking in Edo State"
Kilo Ken, also known as Kingsley Egharevba, has been arraigned by the Benin Zonal Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). The 35-year-old man is accused of impersonating a Nigeria Army officer and has been charged with two counts of assisting a person in organizing foreign travels for the purpose of prostitution and knowing that the victim would be forced into prostitution in Libya. The victim's name has been withheld. Kilo Ken pleaded not guilty to the offences and the case has been adjourned until June 15, 2023. Justice A.A Adewemimo has ordered that the suspect continue with administrative bail pending the formal filing of his bail application before the court. The alleged offence was committed in Benin City in October 2019, according to NAPTIP counsel, Mrs Oburoh Victoria Okanigbuan.
