The Labour Party responds to Buhari's claim that opposition parties lost the 2023 election due to overconfidence, accusing the ruling party of stealing their victory.
The Labour Party has responded to President Muhammadu Buhari's claims that opposition parties lost the 2023 presidential election due to overconfidence, complacency, and bad tactics. According to the acting National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Obiora Ifoh, Buhari's statement is just another desperate attempt by the ruling party to seek validation for an alleged electoral fraud which they celebrate as a victory. The party accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of stealing their victory and claimed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not win the election because the presidential election was allegedly manipulated and rigged beyond comprehension.
The Labour Party insisted that they won the election and accused the APC of rigging the election in their favor. They cited the Independent National Electoral Commission's failure to upload results from polling units in real-time as promised and the use of violence, ballot snatching, and manipulation of results from collation centers as some of the reasons for their loss. The party claimed that these actions by the APC and government agencies created room for the election to be rigged.
