Rotimi Amaechi ensured my removal from office because I didn't give him birthday gift - Former NPA boss Hadiza Bala Usman
Hadiza Bala Usman, the former managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), alleged that she was persecuted by former Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi because she did not give him a birthday present. In her new book "Stepping on Toes: My Odyssey at the Nigerian Ports Authority," she claimed that the minister refused pleas from governors and other prominent Nigerians to reinstate her, citing selfishness and failure to give him a present. She also accused the minister of attempting to frame her with charges of non-remittance of operating surplus to the Consolidated Revenue Fund, although she was cleared of wrongdoing after a prolonged investigation. Usman said Amaechi gave her an ultimatum to either resign or challenge her suspension in court.
