On Tuesday, April 5th, at 2:35 a.m., Bob Lee, the former chief technology officer of Square and creator of Cash App, was attacked and stabbed multiple times in San Francisco's Rincon Hill neighborhood, according to local authorities. Lee, who was identified by CBS News, was 43 years old at the time of the attack. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.
As of early Wednesday, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack. At the time of his death, Lee served as the chief product officer of MobileCoin, a San Francisco-based cryptocurrency company, according to his LinkedIn page. He had a successful career in the tech industry, including working at Google, where he led Android's core library team and helped launch the world's most widely-used operating system, as noted on MobileCoin's official website.
