"Court Halts PDP's Suspension of Wike and Others for Alleged Anti-Party Activities"
"A Federal High Court in Abuja Bars PDP from Suspending or Expelling Governor Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Executive Members over Alleged Anti-Party Activities"
Justice Inyang Ekwo, in his ruling, declared that the concerns raised by Governor Nyesom Wike and other PDP members in Rivers State were valid. The court found that any attempt to suspend or expel them would constitute a violation of their constitutional right to freedom of association. The judge emphasized that the court has the power to provide redress to individuals who have been subjected to infringement of their rights.
Furthermore, Justice Ekwo stated that political parties cannot suspend members arbitrarily without adhering to the party's guidelines.
