Below is a statement from the Rivers state Ministry of Health calling on all those who visited Samstel Clinic in Rumuokoro, Port Harcourt, in the last few weeks to report to the ministry to get tested. Samstel is the hospital where Dr Ikye Enemoah, who died of Ebola, worked.

Three hotel attendants namely, Sunday Okon, 23; Rita Emmanuiel, 28; and Goodness Akpan 24; all staff of an undisclosed hotel in the Ogudu area of Lagos were yesterday August 28th arraigned before an Ogudu Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos for allegedly filming a hotel customer's sex act on August 13th and using it to blackmail him. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the three accused persons used the hotel's CCTV to record an unidentified man's sex act with his girlfriend. They produced a DVD on it and used it to demand a N10million ransom from the man. They also posted the video on Facebook on Aug 13th and 23rd after the man refused to pay up. Continue...

On Sunday I told you guys about the young house help whose madam forced her to sit on a burning electric cooker because she allegedly wet the bed? (see that here ). Well, here's an update on the case. The woman's name is Roseline Uzoamaka and she has been arrested. She was arrested on Sunday night by the police at Kubwa police station who then transferred the case to the Dutsen Alhaji Police Division of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Abuja. The girl is 14 years old according to sources and her name is Sarah. She's currently recuperating at the hospital. Quite a lot of NGOs have gotten involved and one in particular is planning to take Mrs Uzoamaka to court for child brutality. Sarah is said to be related to the woman's husband and was brought to Abuja to help the family domestically.

The National Deputy Chief Medical Doctor in Liberia, Abraham Borbor, has died from the Ebola virus disease despite taking the experimental drug, ZMapp. Late Dr. Borbor contracted the deadly virus while attending to Ebola patients at the John F. Kennedy Medical Centre in Monrovia. Liberia's Minister of Information Lewis Brown announced his death to reporters in Monrovia this morning and said the late doctor was improving as at yesterday August 24th but suddenly took ill and died.

Boko Haram men today launched an attack on Gamboru-Ngala village in Borno state, displacing many of the villagers and disarming about 480 Nigerian soldiers stationed at the Cameroon-Nigeria border. According to reports, the attack started around 5.30 this morning in the army barracks in Ngala known as Harmony Camp before proceeding to Gamboru where they took over the town without any military resistance. The insurgents reportedly embarked on a house-to-house raid in Gamboru.

According to Sahara Reporters , the younger sister of late Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh who died of Ebola on Tuesday August 19th has been confirmed to have Ebola and has been hospitalized. The report below.. SaharaReporters has learned today that Amy Ngozi Adadevoh, younger sister of the late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, has reportedly tested positive for the Ebola virus.  Miss Adadevoh had previously been a suspected case, a suspicion confirmed today by blood test. She has been moved to isolation at the Ebola treatment center in Lagos. She joins two other patients there undergoing evaluation and treatment.

One of Nicki Minaj's dancers got bitten by a 6 foot Anaconda snake during rehearsals for the MTV Music Video awards on Sunday. According to TMZ, Nicki Minaj was on stage performing her hit, "Anaconda" when a female dancer was bit by the reptile in front of everyone.We're told the dancer has just been taken to the hospital where she's being treated. Anacondas are non-venomous snakes but often transmit bacteria that can lead to serious infections.The snake was removed from the stage in a container.

Jabbar Collins Jabbar Collins' wrongful conviction was one of many in Brooklyn that came to light in recent years, but his case stood out as the shameful result of an allegedly rogue prosecutor who railroaded Collins to solve a high-profile crime that had struck deeply in the Orthodox Jewish community. The city's top lawyer, Zachary Carter, made the multimillion-dollar offer on Monday, capping weeks of intense negotiations with a civil trial scheduled for Oct. 20 in Brooklyn Federal Court. Collins, 42, agreed to a $3 million settlement last month from the state to settle a separate lawsuit.

Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, Lagos have smashed a syndicate that specialised in selling human parts, arresting three of its members. The suspects are two popular herbalists in Sagamu area and a mother of two whose husband was alleged to be a supplier of the human parts. Recovered from the suspects were two human skulls suspected to have been procured from a graveyard. Their arrest, according to Police sources, followed an intelligence report received by the Lagos State Police Command on activities of human parts dealers, which made the Commander SARS, Abba Kyari, to embark on a manhunt, that led to the arrest of the three suspects, Mustapha Muritala, Sunday Oluyeba and Adenike Olanrewaju, with others still at large in Ojumerin area of Sagamu, Ogun State.

A 37-year-old mother of three, Ezeh Ifeoma Maureen (pictured above), has been arrested with substances suspected to be cannabis by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).  According to The Nation , Maureen was caught at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in  Ikeja, Lagos, during outward screening of China-bound Ethiopian Airlines’ passengers for allegedly attempting to smuggle 6.200 kilogrammes of dried weeds that tested positive for cannabis. Decontee Sawyer, the widow of late late Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, the man who brought the deadly Ebola disease to Nigeria, says she regrets the death of Doctor Ameyo Adadevor of First Consultant Hospital, who died of the Ebola virus on Tuesday August 19th after being infected by Sawyer. In an email to Leadership.ng , Mrs Sawyer, who lives in Minnesota, USA, said she's pained that her late husband caused so many others so much pain both in Liberia and Nigeria.

  Police in Chicago are trying to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of a 9 year old boy who was shot multiple times in a neighbour’s backyard. Antonio Smith ran away from home after her mum failed to get him a cupcake. According the mother, Brandi Murry, Antonio had called her at work earlier on Wednesday asking about a treat, reported the Chicago Sun Times . She told the 9-year-old she would be home soon and denied his request. Upset, he left the house about 3:45pm.
